Orlando Cabrera

Has anyone ever seen this guy hit,..........at all..... this season???? I have been in 16 leagues and, I can not recall him coming within 30 points of his batting average once! Why is it that some guys never,... EVER... approach their real numbers, and some guys do?

I completely understand that the pitching staffs in almost all of these TSN leagues are better than in the Major Leagues, and I know that you can achieve more realistic numbers out of players with ,"Stock replays". Or playing the seasons with the real, "As Is" teams. But why for instance can Chipper Jones hit .400 for some people, and Orlando Cabrera can not hit .300,..... once? Please site examples if I am wrong. I would love to hear some stories of Cabrera hitting .300 or better with 20 plus stolen bases.
Thanks in advance, if anyone can help me out,...with this one.

Thank you! That is the first time I can remember seeing him hit his batting average. I am presently using him on a team because all my favorite SS were gone, but less than half way through the season, someone dropped Rollins. I would have picked him up, but I just could not rearrange my team enough to do so. And then someone beat me to that punch. This is a 5/10/20 league that I speak of. I think Orlando Cabrera is over priced. I know the SS-1 rating is nice, but usually you over pay for it. Especially at SS.

An interesting side note; for the 2008 cards there will only be two SS that are 1s. They are Jimmy Rollins and Jack Wilson. I loved the fact that Jon McDonald was a 1 at SS in 2007, but he fell all the way to a SS-2 E27! He was hurt much of the year.

Found a good one, but definately the exception rather than the rule.

I've had him twice in RFK:

328 43 90 20 0 5 30 28 39 7 6 4 .274 .334 .381

602 70 151 30 0 12 65 38 89 8 5 17 .251 .301 .361

First one was a mid season trade

Thanks DJ, and mjf309.

If you are going to use Orlando Cabrera RFK is the place to do it. Though he still did not hit .300 in any examples,..yet...... except for akindian's league.

Through 102 games, this guy in my league seems to be doing well with him. Let's see what happens in the final 60 . :?:

That is the best one yet. Cabrera hit over .300 and stole 28 of 30 bases! Wow!
