Just won a championship with the 1969 cards. Brings me up to a total of 8 whole championships broken down as:
ATG II 2
1969 1
80s 2
2003 3
Hope to get a '05 ring before the '06 cards come out.

Now that you've gotten that off your chest, perhaps you can hint at your formula. Does it vary depending on draft results? Do you go for all pitching in the draft, then build around it?
What ballparks do you like?

No set formula. I am known for coming up with various wacky themes that sometimes even win it all. Like my second 80s championship where I used a 5 man rotation where all the starters cost 750k and none of them where * starters.
Most common parks I have used are homerun parks like Kingdome or Jack Murphy in the 80's, COORS, '67 Fenway for ATGII. Haven't come up witha favorite park for 1969 yet though I am using Metro several times. Hard to come up with a park since 1969 player base makes it hard to recover from a bad AD so it is harder to rebuild your team through waivers and FA to gear your team for your park.

Congrats on the rings A,
You were in my very first league with one of your M*A*S*H* units and then again in a non-dh league, you always have pretty good teams, always play like a class act...you very much deserve a ring for 05.
Hope you get that elusive '05 ring pretty soon, all best of luck.

There was a club(for board BSing purposes only), where you had to have a certain total of championships in different games to be a member. I was a member and have titles in seven of the baseball games(2001,2002,2003,2005, ATG I, ATG II, & 80's). There were about a dozen other guys with similar totals and probably another half a dozen who didn't participate.

I did try 2001 once but didn't like it. Not enough control of the players plus no waivers (only frenzy). Did go 85 and 77 but finished in second place, 3 games out. Tried 2002 twice. 1st team went 88 and 74 and finished last. Second team went 102 and 60 and lost in the semi finals.
If TSN would offer the discount 5 pack for 2002 I would try 5 more teams.

I think the real question is who can boast a ring in all 8 strat baseball products that have been produced. ('01, '02, '03, '05, 80's, '69, ATGI, ATGII).
I know Abnerdoubleday has them but not sure if anyone else can boast that. I have rings in 6 of the products but I got shut out in 2003 and so far I can't seem to win a 1980's league with 6 playoff appearances in 9 teams so far.
Riggo and Penn can both claim titles in 7 products, anyone else out there with 8?

I only have titles in five...
80s: Hate the game only made the playoffs once in 6 tries, lost in semis
2001: 5 teams, 2 playoffs, one ring
2002: 21 teams, 8 playoffs, 3 rings
ATG I: 2 teams,. one playoff (other team went 53-109) no rings
2003: 7 rings
ATG 2: 24 teams, 1 ring, no longer play
2005: 11 rings
