link might have helped btw most people wont give advice without a link...honestly I think you will struggle some to score runs but who doesnt in PETCO, your pitching is what will matter the most...can you hold people to a 3.5 ERA is the real question

Also Klesko will hurt you some out there in left, u might have found a more suitable option like Figgans, Freel or Clark...also upgradeing Cruz to Boccacia if you could might help even though it is more walks.


And yes you HAVE to move Hafner down in the lineup vs lefties...he should bat 7th

Ok. 8) Well...I could give a link but I thought just seeing the lineups was enough. How come you think I will have trouble scoring runs? Yes, I know Petco is hard but I figured I got the best I could afford. Pretty much everyone is gonna score less in Petco like you said.
I don't know how my pitching will do. Got Clemens, Lilly, Pavano and Robertson. Have Speier, Looper, Frasor, Gordon and Cotts in the bullpen.

Agree with dropping Hafner, you'll have the advantage of him more likely to see RH relief once the other team goes to the pen.

The main thing that jumped to me was how you lineup the R-L

So considering the turn from 9th to top of the order Vs L there is a point where you go with 5 straight righties, Other than Andrew Jones none too much of a threat so Lefties might be a bit tough on you, the likes of Wolf and Sabathia...not really hard like Pettite, a simple L 2R would do. Anyway, that leaves you with the posibility of having to rely a bit hard on Klesko, Haffner, Glaus, Overbay...Haffner will struggle a bit against LH pitching, Glaus will hit o.k. with some really good power but injuries and low average might not make him the best choice to rely on. So that leaves you with Klesko and Overbay...kinda tough to make .500 vs lefties that way.

-ALmost forgot my initial point: Sometimes it helps to place booby traps for HAL: in your case have Haffner sandwiched between righties so that HAL might get a righty from the pen prior to Haff and leave it there for the guy behind Haff, for example having Glaus-Haffner-Jones in the 5-6-7 slots. Just a suggestion.

Now Vs R you are bit tougher and switch around much better, you do have 4 lefties in a row 9-1-2-3 but it's a different case because Giles and Haff are good threats so you look much better there.

Good news is that you'll face much more righties...but in my opinion lefties will be mighty tough on ya'

Thanks for the help Cummings. I'll look into that. I do have to be a bit tougher against lefties. Got seven of them I believe in my division. I have an idea or two I may try but I'm not sure yet. Don't wanna go dropping players left and right the first night of the season. I need a guy who does well against lefties though.

woof! What kind of Lefties, xL like Washburn or xL like Odalis/Sabathia...if you have tons of L xL maybe you can get by alright. Also, how are the other closers and pens looking in your division? -if they are all RH you could mount some comebacks.

Another thing I forgot to mention, if you play Shea in your division or any lefty park you might struggle even more since you slant so heavy with righties and your main source of lefty power is Haff that struggles vs. LHP

Ramirez
Odalis Perez
Alvarez
Lowry
Petitte
and Wells.

All strong against righties. Mostly righties in their bullpens...a couple strong against lefties.
