He also won the Fireman of the Year award as my first 50 save guy ever, I think.

Wow, very nice. I've been going the cheap route for closers myself. Here's the line on Casey Janssen on a Citizen's Bank team no less:

1 2 45 3 55.1 52 18 17 18 22 4 2.77 1.27 E 1.86M

He didn't finish first in the CY balloting (5th), but did win the fireman award. Nothing better than watching guys like these outshine the $5 plus closers.

I've used Jansen a couple of times. Nothing quite that good though.

Amazing how Polonco was your RBI leader with 115, yet he was 6th on your team with 11 total Homers. His .341 BA is incredible at RFK!

Great year from Ichiro as well. Who won the MVP? If the MVP was park adjusted, it would be one of those two.

Jerry, what was your team's batting order? I'm curious to know, among other things, how Polanco and Ichiro both had 100+ RBIs.

I will say it takes some balls and strikes to bat Polanco third from the start of the year. Congrats!

The clubhouse must have really liked Marquis.

I have had Polanco get 100 RBI on another team in Fenway or similar. I think his 100 RBI is a great advertisement for speed at the top and the bottom of the order. I was mystified as to Ichiro's RBI's also. He always batted #2 and the bottom of the order was decent, but not remarkable and he only had 43 extrabase hits. I guess the speed must have helped. He slowed towards the end also. At one point late he was still about 5th in RBI. Neither Polanco nor Ichiro ever had a vote that I saw in the top five for MVP, much to my frustration.
Vs Both
