Here is one of the first Blockbuster trades of the new season:

SADO MASoCHISTS traded:
Pedroia, Dustin ($9,980,000)
Valentin, Javier ($1,070,000)
Mussina, Mike ($3,900,000)
Pettitte, Andy ($790,000)

to North Union Foxes09 for:
Martinez, Victor ($820,000)
Utley, Chase ($7,590,000)
Guthrie, Jeremy ($4,000,000)
Matsuzaka, Daisuke ($3,310,000

Both teams were struggling prior to the trade. We will see what happens.

Has anyone else made any big deals, at the beginning of this new season?

I made this trade below before waivers since I already had A-Rod and had the first pick in the waiver draft I picked up a first baseman so I thought it was a good deal for me to make. What you think ???

Without knowing details like ballparks and opponents, at first blush it looks like the manager getting VMart, Utley, Guthrie and Dice-K get the better end of it. I can't acess the link from work, so it's just a view without seeing the big picture.

I would tend to agree with you that He's Meat got a better deal than myself. But I felt like maybe this trade could help both our teams. Utley was not cutting it in my park(Kauffman), however I strongly believe that Dustin Pedroia is at least a little over priced. And I think Utley is a great bargain in a homerun park.

a lot of these depend on park played in and make-up of division. hamilton for holiday is very interesting. hamilton benefits from lh bat and better D, i expect holiday to put up better overall numbers.
as for my deal with rmilter...pedroia has ABSOLUTELY SUCKED. under .300 in batting average, ON BASE PERCENTAGE, And under .400 slugging. I was about to cash him in for about four players, but would always rather deal. pedroia's an early candidate for most over priced, but im sure he'll produce for plenty of others.
