I do not have the data to back it up, but in 2006 some guy had Mark Texaria start the year 0 for 27.

yeah, I had Punto get off to a start like that too. It was around 25 ABs with no hits.

I had Brian Downing go 0 for 57 (not to start the season) get a hit and then follow up with an 0 for 28 in an '86 league. That was a killer.

Because the probabilities were against that happening. The chances against that happening are astronomical. It was bad luck, not a bad card or bad matchups.
I play the statistical likelihoods in Strat, not the results. It's been very successful for me.
