I've been wanting to do a AL/NL two team league with the new set but haven't been crazy about the parameters of the others that have launched so here's my version.
Rules for picking teams:
1. Two round snake draft determined by evening state lottery (highest to lowest) Managers pick 1 team from either league in the first round. In the second round they must pick a team from the opposite leage. so if you pick and AL team in round 1 you must pick an NL team in round 2.
2. Stadium must be from one of your 2 teams
3. 100mil cap
4. DH
5. Trades are allowed
6. No free agents except as pointed out below
7. 28 man roster for the entire season
8. Divisions are East 1,4,7,10;Central 2,5,8,11;West 3,6,9,12
Twist rules:
Once the teams have been selected, we'll use the same lottery states for a second 3 round draft of players from the remaining 6 teams to be used as free agents.
Here's the small twist, you can only spend a total of 6mil on all 3 free agents. How you do that is up to you, you can spend 5mil on 1 player and .50 on the other 2, but no matter how you do it, the combined salaries must total 6 mil between all 3 players. Those 3 players MUST remain on your team the entire season and can not be traded.

Nope, you have to take 3, that limits the highest dollar value to 5mil for any one extra player.
That said if it's a HUGE sticking point we can discuss options, but I'd like to see if the league will fill as is.

I'm interested, and like all the rules except the requirement for 3 players from the 6 undrafted teams... I understand what you are trying to accomplish by creating a total budget so impact players don't come from the undrafted teams.. however; there may not be 3 players worth drafting from the 6 undrafted teams if you have stay in the budget..
My suggestion... make it 2 players not 3 from the undrafted team pool, they can be dropped per normal rules..and stick to a $5 million budget for all free agents..
that way the biggest impact player from the free agent pool will be $4.5 mil..
thoughts...

Again
I'm gonna keep it as is and gauge interest.

I too am interested, and I have no problem with any of your rules except,.. shouldn't we have to have a 28 man roster? It is a little unrealistic for a ML team to play 162 games with only 25 players. Why not make everyone have 28 players?? This will add strategy in the form of role players. If you make it 28 man rosters I am in.
I have to go to work and will not be able to check in until late tonight. If you fill without me,...oh well, my loss. Good luck filling the league, and if you want to expand the roster sizes, count me in,..otherwise have fun, and good luck! It is a nice idea, I just can not get my head around these TINY rosters. I want to be in a league where you HAVE TO CARRY 28 players. It adds so much more strategy and role players. If this is not what you are interested in, I understand and I will look for a different league.

Thanks for increasing roster size to 28, I am fine with ALL your other rules and I think it is a great idea. As long as the rules stay the same,..count me in. I appreciate it! Try to let us know in advance when the loto numbers will be picked. Thanks,
R.Milter
