I noticed on the SOM site that it says they'll ship on Jan 11... just checking. Haven't ordered one yet. For someone who has ordered, do you get the

2005 Ratings Book & Disk
Product Code: B2005RBD

?

Thanks!

I've never ordered the disk. Can anyone tell me the bg advantage you have with the disk over the book in terms of sorting? Can you sort (lists the book doesn't have):

-by SB rating?
-base runing speed?
-fielding by position?
-K/9 for pitchers (vs-L; vs-R)?
-clutch for hitters???

Thanks.

[b:fb3860482c]-by SB rating[/b:fb3860482c] By letter yes, otherwise you get this "*2-5,11,12/- (19-13)" You could break the field up if you wanted to.

[b:fb3860482c]-base runing speed? [/b:fb3860482c] Yes

[b:fb3860482c]-fielding by position?[/b:fb3860482c] Looks like this - "ss-3e18 2b-2e5 3b-3e37"
Again you can break this into multiple fields if you wanted.

[b:fb3860482c]-K/9 for pitchers (vs-L; vs-R)?[/b:fb3860482c] You get raw stats for K's and innings but only the chances for vs-L or R

-[b:fb3860482c]clutch for hitters??[/b:fb3860482c] Yes

Disk is invaluable to me. I think Penn has a program that helps sort and some other features. I think Lucky (Marcus Wilby) can provide you with his ratings calculations that you can apply to the file.

I use it to sort RF by OB chances, who has BP HR's vs left or Right. Quite a bit of information.

PM me your e-mail and I'll send you a sample of the file.[/b]

FYI, I have not received mine yet.

Got my book today :D

Some early observations....

- Johan will have competition for the highest priced lefty SP...and it won't be Unit. Pettitte's numbers are awesome.

- If TSN give Bonds a card, he's going to be scary again, but his injury is on a 7; 17+ HR units vs RHP

- Kendall got a +2 arm...after a -1 last year

- Brian Roberts could be the 2nd most valuable position player (behind Arod, of course, who got a 2e8 at SS :? ) in the set.

- They treated Luis Castillo VERY well, particularly vs RHP

- Clemens probably is the best * RH SP in the deck...with Pedro and Peavy up there too. Carpenter is surprisingly unbalanced.

Got mine yesterday.

Haven't had much of a chance to look it over. Did notice that Bonds is very good v RHP, but v LHP :(

I just ordered my 2005 book. They said it would ship tomorrow.

I'd like to ask a favor in the meantime. Can someone please look up [b:28533f72f7]Jeremy Reed[/b:28533f72f7]'s (CF-Seattle) def rating? The M's and Red Sox are talking trade on this guy (M's got him from the Chi-Sox as part of the F. Garcia deal in 2004), and fans on both sides are debating his defensive value/ability. [b:28533f72f7]I wonder if he is a 2 or a 3?[/b:28533f72f7]

Some think that SAFECO makes CFs look better range-wise than they really are, because the ball hangs in the marine air (which is true that it does). i.e. it made Cameron and Randy Winn look a little better than they were due to this factor.

For that matter, maybe someone wants to post all the 1's (usually listed in the front of the book)!

Thanks for posting that.

That's perfect. Exactly what he should be.

Man, I wonder what B. Roberts price will be? $8M @ 2B?

His ESPN splits:

looks like about a 4R too.
