This league is a twist on the 2 team theme leagues but allocates the entire player pool.

[u:b6bca426a3]The Basic Rules[/u:b6bca426a3]

100 mil/DH/frenzy standard - 20% drop penalty

Pick a home ballpark associated with one of your teams note: can be one of the half teams (described below)

Trades are Allowed

[u:b6bca426a3]The Draft Format[/u:b6bca426a3]

The draft will have 3 rounds (we will use the Individual Chat League board for the draft)

Rounds 1 and 2:
Once we have 12 managers we will use the pick 3 state lottery numbers to create a drafting order (we will go lowest to highest); each manager selects a team to have exclusive drafting rights from which he will build his roster.. These drafting rights are exclusive throughout the auto draft and the entire season with no exceptions. However; players, and thus player drafting rights, can be traded. The draft will go 1 through 12, with the 12th pick getting to take 2 teams, and the draft will complete the second round in serpentine order.. At this point every manager will have 2 teams... there will be 6 unselected teams..

Round 3:
Now the 1/2 team concept comes into play... We will run a second lottery drawing using the previously selected states and rank the managers round 3 drafting order from lowest lottery numbers to highest... in this round each manager will select either the entire pitching staff, or all the position players from one of the remaining 6 teams... For example.. If the San Diego Padres are not drafted in rounds 1 or 2, I can select the Padres pitching in round 3... I would then have exclusive rights to the padres pitchers (Peavy, Young, Hoffman ect...); but I do not have the rights to the padres hitters (Giles, A Gonzalez, Gerut ect..) someone else will draft the Padres positional players.. Unfortunately someone might get stuck with the awful Texas Rangers pitching using this format, but that is the luck of the draw..

At the end of round 3 every manager will have 2 full teams and one half team (either the pitching staff, or all the positional players from a third team) The exclusive drafting rights to every player in the set will belong to one of the 12 managers

Sounds great, any chance it can be 5/10/20 drop penalty so we can make more moves?

What about Free Agents? I assume only from your 2.5 teams? Non drafted teams are not available, right?

Free Agent Question and drop penalty

Ducapa, you are correct, you are free to use any players from your 2.5 teams throughout the season.. you have exclusive rights... you can also decide there is a player from one of your 2.5 teams that you will not use on your roster, but you can trade him to another team...

I can be open to the 5-10-20 drop penalty... see what the other managers think

I only ask bc I love to make moves and trades which is what I believe to be the best part about the online game after the draft, so 5-10-20 helps to encourage that. Thanks 8-)

I agree 100% that 5-10-20 is ideal in this scenario - it has my vote.

One question - is the two team portion of the draft AL/NL; ie. one team from each? That's what I've seen before - it worked well that way in another league I'm in (I think that's also how I've seen similar leagues).
