Manny says it wasn't steriods. The rumor is that it's a masking agent for steriods. Nice comment Manny.

Don't want to get into a huge discussion about it but I would like one "brave" investigative reporter to go after Ripken and all these others who are somehow above the fray. No way he didn't know who was doing it, i.e. Brady Anderson, Palmero. Those that hid or continue to hide the secret are just as guilty as those that did it or continue to do. Let's stop the charade.

My next "winner" at least half of Boston's team. Lowell, Youkilis, Ortiz, Drew. Not picking on Red Sox because I believe Canseco that most players are doing it. Let's just admit it and move on.

I sort of just stopped carrying about baseball starting in the early 90s until about three years ago. I think part of it had nothing to do with steroids, but part of it was,....that I was seeing guys like Brady Anderson jack 50 HRs and I knew something was amiss. Growing up if a guy hit 40 HRs they would throw him a parade, and he would lead the league. It meant something.
Now we are finally getting back to REAL BASEBALL! With bunting and stealing, and fielding. I love the game more than ever.

And by the way, no one should shed a tear for Manny Ramirez or any of those CHEATERS! They cheated plain and simple,.. and their legacies should be tarnished! Long live Jim Rice, Andre Thornton, and Hank Aaron, and all the guys who played the game the RIGHT WAY!

What makes that era above reproach? or any era for that matter? When the game first started only whites could play so does that mean that the league did not consist of the "Best" players so should those records have an * next to them? Just a thought. SGT D

In some ways I agree with what you said. Each era is different. And yes I do believe that when the game was, whites only, some of the records are not as significant. I really believe that,... even though many will not like to hear it, or disagree with it. You can't take things away from Cobb, Ruth, Williams, and the old timers, but you also have to realize the player pool was at least 100 times smaller.

And as far as the ,"Steroid era", goes, those guys(maybe up to 50% of them,...who knows) cheated,.... plain and simple!! So the McGuire, Bonds, Sosa, and even A-Rod and Manny numbers are tainted,...very much so in fact!
I believe the game is getting better, and from the time of Jackie Robinson until the late 1980s or early 1990s the game was more pure. Some may argue my opinions ,but these are my, and many others beliefs.
