I was just wondering who everyone is using as a leadoff man vs RH pitching in the 2008 set. There are so few * guys with high OBP vs RH's - is everyone just forgetting speed at the top and using non * leadoff hitters?
I've tried Ichiro, Victorino and B. Roberts at the top in pitcher's parks and none of them have faired very well.

In my three completed teams so far, I've used:
J.D. Drew
Dustin Pedroia
Russell Martin
I try to find high OBP guys that are at least a 1-14 in baserunning. They don't necessarily have to be great base stealers, just good runners.

Jose Reyes rocks!
Have him on two teams and he creates runs.

If I told you ,....I would have to.....you. No just kidding. I have used these players so far;
1. Ian Kinsler
2. Rafael Furcal
3. Jose Reyes
I am not saying those are the best guys. They are just who I have used.

This set's great unsung bargain: Daniel Murphy. If you don't like his fielding, use him as DH. He's been in the top 25 league OPS both times I've had him, for only 3 1/2 million. 300+ BA and lots of walks. Also has had good OBP vs. LHP. Speed at lead-off is overrated.

Always nice to have a * stealer. It will make your #2 guy a better hitter.
