Apparent New P/O Structure in effect for '08

In an '08 league concluded last night, the best record team is [u:9092f943a3]NOT[/u:9092f943a3] playing the WC, but the team with the worst p/o record. (The WC team had 2nd best record in his division)
I applaude the change, but funny it effected me the first time it was instituted as I was the team having to play the best squad.
I haven't seen an announcement, but this has to be the case I presume.

I don't understand ... :? ... What do you mean the worst playoff record?
I thought the rules were still the same. Best record plays WC team, unless they are in the same division, in which case #1 plays #3.

This is correct, but those rules were implemented somewhat recently. Previously, the team with the best record played the WC even if they were in the same division. I don't know when they changed it to the current format, as I missed the announcement as well.

Not sure if there was an announcement. It's in the Game Rules for 2008 and ATG4 and applies only to those games.

This just happened. That team was my 3rd team ('08) to make the P/O's so far and it wasn't the case the first two times.
I think they just changed this for the '08 game. And yes, I know it was already like that for ATG.
