New 2 1/2 teams FULL, draft tongiht, 5pm PCT

I haven't had a chance to be in a 2 1/2 teams league yet this year. So I am starting one.

the specifics are this: DH and 5/10/20 drop. We each draft two whole teams from the 2008 set, and then draft a 1/2 team (either pitchers or hitters) The draft is serpentine for the first two rounds with the draft position determined by 3 pick lotto, 9pm PCT on the day the league fills. (low drafts first). The third round will have an unusual sequence, honoring the fact that the early draft choices in the first round were an advantage, but having one's picks together also is. (3rd round sequence is 9, 10, 8, 11, 7, 12, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) You may choose the park of either of your first two teams drafted, or of your 3rd team IF you chose pitchers.

You can add and drop freely from your 2 1/2 teams onto your roster (200 mil league) with a 25-man roster limit, until game 132, when you can expand to 28. No one can pick up players from your teams.
Trading IS allowed (even encouraged). Uneven deals are allowed (3 for 2 for example) and you can include players you own not on your active roster. All trades must be within 3.5 million of even. No trades until the team draft is totally finished.
Divisions are determined by total team salaries, Take the 12 highest players on your first two teams salaries, and the top 6 on your half team, and the four highest salary teams will be in a division, and the four lowest salary teams will be in a division. I'll publish a list of the salary totals of the different team once we fill.
Please sign up and list your state for lotto (Must be a state with pick 3).
If you don't check the boards frequently, I encourage you to PM me your e-mail. so I can let you know when we start.

Never heard of this before, but sounds fun. One thing unclear to me -- assuming each manager has exclusive rights to two and one half teams, how are those teams established for each manager? How and when do other managers know which teams he and the other managers have rights to?

Thanks,

Kevin A

We do a draft of teams, actual MLB teams from 2008, such as Arizona or in the 3rd round, Texas's Hitters, right here on this site, with draft order chosen by lotto as explained above.

So there are three rounds? First one, an entire single team roster; second round, another entire team roster; then third round either the entire hitters or the entire pitchers from a third team. End of draft and trading starts. Do I have it right?

Thanks,

Kevin A

I like the theme, though might be tough to enforce things like $3.5m trade diff max or 25 man roster until game 132. Maybe just make it 28 man from day one?
