[color=blue:e01c8b0b0b]This is a new e-mail that I've composed that I will be sending out to all leagues that I play in from now on. I thought I would share this here as I think it is something that has affected us all from time to time.[/color:e01c8b0b0b]
Welcome fellow league mates!
I am excited about our upcoming season and always enjoy meeting new managers and of course the old rivals (you know who you are...) For those of you who don't know me yet I wanted to make a personal request that I think if we all try to follow, will make this league a lot more fun for everyone.
I tend to send out lots and lots of trade offers. Sometimes it's because I've done poorly in the draft, other times it's because I see a possibility for upgrade, and still other times I'm just bored (what can I say, I'm a Pirates fan...)
I would appreciate it if we could all try to abide by the following protocol this season. I promise to do the same.
If you read an offer, please answer it promptly. Accept it, decline it, or send a short e-mail explaining that you're mulling it over and hopefully when you expect to make up your mind.
I can't tell you how many times I have waited for days for an answer to an offer (when I might have had another possible deal with someone else) only to find out that the other owner had just forgotten to respond or worse yet, thought the offer was ridiculous and not worthy of a response. Well, one man's leftovers can be another's filet mignon...
If you think my offer was ridiculous why not tell me why? I tend to do this when the shoe is on the other foot and for me it's interesting to understand how different managers value players and why. I may or may not agree with you, but at least I have a chance to explain my thinking which may or may not lead to a counteroffer.
If you feel like I am sending you too many trade offers during the season (I can get more annoying in inverse proportion to my winning percentage) feel free to tell me, and don't worry about hurting my feelings!!! For me, building teams and trading is the most fun part of the game, and it's a real shame that trading seems to be so difficult and infrequent here.
Have a great time, here's to a fun season and good luck to you all.
