I keep reading these posts about playing by the rules, answering trade offers quickly and on and on and on. This is a hobby and we do this for enjoyment. Unfortunately after what happend in one of the leagues I am in I am not sure I will be playing anymore. One team has made a series of questionable moves that improved his team dramatically and moved himself into first place. Including pilferring a last place teams best three pitchers for pratically nothing. THere were no other teams that benefitted from this firesale but him. I'm sorry but if players do not like how long it takes to answer trade offers that is your problem. I personally do not go online everyday that is why this site lets you plan ahead. If manager ratings and ego boosting are important, the players who want them can have them.

If you believe that there are some suspicious trades going on in your league, just report them to TSN/Bernie. They will investigate. Just have some facts available. Only twice in 300 leagues have I seen blatant commiserating between two or three owners in which I had asked to exit that league.
However, if someone is taking advantage of a newbie in trades, there probably isn't a whole lot that can be done. That is part of baseball. Just flip a note to the owners asking what their rationale was. If neither responds to you at all, then there may be something up.
Sometimes legitimate trading can be misconstrued. What you think may be a bad trade may seem fair to someone else. For the most part, it's subjective.

In regards to answering trade offers quickly, that is not your issue. If you only check the league every couple of days or so, that is your choice. However, I agree that guys should at least acknowledge the trade by accepting or rejecting when they see it.

Best of luck to you around the leagues.

Doesn't the salary cap and the players salaries pretty much balance out all the trades?

It may be rare but collusion(CHEATING) does occur in MANY forms. First off,we need some information. Is it a salary cap league? Because if not, it makes it MUCH, MUCH easier for two friends to collude(CHEAT). Here is what can happen. One friend is out of the division race, so he trades his better players to his buddy/ brother/ brother in law, for bums. Also there have been the rare cases of GMs purchasing two teams(illegally) under two different names for the purpose of having one team be the others farm team. Critics have mentioned that this does not make financial sense for GMs to do this. But they do not understand the mind of a cheater. This type of cheater does not care about the cost of teams he just wants to win at any cost. Ala George Steinbrenner. So post a link and notify TSN and Bernie if you think cheating is happening. This community and TSN does not and should not tolerate cheating!
