I was wondering how many keeper leagues are out there involving 2008? I had posted to be included in a 24 team and a 12 team keeper league that starts with the 2008 season.

hey Knight, the 24 team keeper I tried to start seemed to die out after about 15 or so sign ups. We may have more interest in the spring. Keep a look out.

Likewise, the 12-team keeper that I've had posted is having a very S - L - O - W start, at best!

Yeah. I signed up for both leagues. Even though I haven't had much success in the leagues I've been in (only making the playoffs once), I like the concept of the keeper league. In the leagues I've been in, I keep seeing so many add/drops made throughout the season. There are very little trades being made.
That's what makes the keeper league that much more interesting. In the last league I was in, a couple of days before the deadline, a team dropped Albert Pujols, even though he was having a great season for him. I couldn't believe it when I saw that transaction. In a keeper league, I couldn't imagine someone dropping Pujols, a perenial MVP candidate.

Agreed. I signed up for the 24-team league, too.
I'm playing in my first keeper league right now and I really like the concept -- both for the fact that all of the best players get to play and because there's a strong element of long-term planning required.
Also, the impact of injured players is greatly reduced, since you can usually bring up solid replacements for them.
Hopefully, after folks become convinced that the latest server issues are resolved, then both of those leagues can get started.
