I am using PNC for the first time this year and cannot seem to get the pitching staff right. I had the following so far:

Cain: 1-7, 6.67era
Beckett: 1-6, 5.81era
Moyer: 1-7, 5.12era
Kershaw: 0-6, 6.79 era

These guys are 3-26 and the team is 31-53 and 17 games back. I dropped Cain & Moyer and picked up Beckett & Kershaw. I am at a loss. SGT D

Take a look at what I think is an ideal pitching staff for a PNC team. You need LH's to take advantage of your park, as well as a good defense to back them up.

I have R. Howard, A. Gonzalez, Sizemore as my LH Power. My Defense looks like this:

C: Y. Molina (1) 8 errors
1B: A. Gonzalez (1) 2 errors
2B: Polanco (2) 8 errors
SS: Jeter (2) 7 errors
3B: A. Ramirez (2) 12 errors
CF: Beltran (1) who was traded for Sizemore (1), but both seem over priced for what you get from them. I have never had luck with either and the park does not matter.

That is 37 errors with 20 errors coming from the Catching and Third Base department. I thought this team would have been pretty good for PNC. Maybe it is a Pirate thing :D . SGT D

Both Howard and Gonzalez, and to a lesser extent, Sizemore, are better off in a hitters park. While PNC is lefty friendly, you still only have a 33% chance of the ballpark homerun rolls becoming actual homeruns.

I have Gonzo at PNC & also Iwamura 2b (1), Punto/Tulo both 2s at ss,
Dobbs/Beltre (1) 3b. OF: McLouth, Granderson, Spilborghs. DH:Murphy/Alf

SP: LHs:Lester & Maholm both 3 over .500, LH Ollie Perez (.500),

RHs:Volquez (8-7), Pelfrey, Carmona.

LHRPs: Fuentes 29/32 Save%, LHRP Wags, LHRP D Reyes
RHRPs: Corcoran, Saito

Im 1st w/ 2 gm lead w/ 48 to go knock on wood. Highest priced SP is Volquez at $4.1M.

As for "all 3 last place teams being in pnc" I still believe there should be a separate draft for parks & no dupes allowed...like real MLB :!:

I love playing at PNC. The imbalance in HR chances (1-7 for LHB and only 1 for RHB) creates some great opportunities for strategy and player maximization.

One pitcher I love at PNC is Kazmir. He has a fabulous card (very few hits), but his main weakness is giving up HRs to RHB. With a HR chance of only 1 for ballpark HRs, this weakness is diminished to some extent. On the other hand, he gives up no Ballpark singles against RHB! At PNC, this avoids a single on a 20 sided die roll of 1-12. His ERA at PNC was just over 3.00 for my team.

Another favourite at PNC is Zambrano (no BP HRs against LHB), esp. if you have a lot of LHB in your disional opponents lineups.
