Awards Voting

Just out of curiosity, how does the "Awards Voting" section of the game engine work?

Stats in the Cheap League (all players sub-2 mil) do not seem to correlate with the awards very well.

After a 54-game hitting streak, Moises Alou is still finishing strong. With 9 games to go, he is #2 in SLG and leads the league in:
... Batting average (by 100 pts)
... BA vs. RHP (by 61 pts)
... BA vs. LHP (by 37 pts)
... Total Average (by 128 pts)
... Hits (by 21)
... Runs created (by 3.6)

With at least 526 PA already, he will certainly be a qualified batter when the season ends (for the first time since 2004 in real life!).

So...

a) Why is he only a 2nd-string all-star?

b) Why is he not in the MVP rankings at all?

what is the record of the team he is on, that actually plays a big part in the equation.

My best, honest answer to how it works is I don't know... sorry. Strat-O-Matic wrote the original code for it.

However, I do know there is a known glitch that affects players that have switched teams in the middle of the season, causing them to disappear from displays like Awards Voting. Did Alou spend time on more than one team?

There's also the glitch in the 80s game where it disappears at the end of the season.

OK, both of those answers make sense, I guess.

Yes, geekor, my team sucks, so that would drag Alou down.

And yes, Bernie, Alou came to me in a trade just before he started his hitting streak (the only highlight for this particular squad!).
