Newbie Asking For Help

My first strat experience...got a lot of it figured out. Still figuring a lot out but am a bit confused with stadium. Joined a 1999 league. I have a team of bombers, good avg. & hr power and lots of steals, good defense, good closer, but a bunch of average at best starters and bullpen.

What should I do? Pick a pitcher-friendly park to make my hurlers better, or just play bombs away with everyone in a small park, which I might win?

If it helps here's my lineup: Bonds LF, Griffey CF, Bichette/Mondesi RF,
Ripken, Batisita, Castillo, Delgado in IF; Pudge catching and Piazza DH. I have over 250 homers and 200 steals including my bench.

I should be set with Wagner as closer, but rest of staff iffy at best...
Lima, Reynolds, Suppan, Sirotka, Halladay. After Wags not much, TJ Matthews, Lloyd, Petkovicz, and a couple bodies. Not much help in waivers.

My original play was to pick a neutral park, like Kaufmann, but I read elsewhere here that may be a mistake.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks

Get a bomber park. Make sure your pitchers have few bpHRs. Neutral parks are not a great idea. You have to play to a strength. Since none of us (myself definitely included) know much about the 1999 league, I don't know the best values for hitter and pitcher parks yet.

I agree with AeroDave. Play to your strength. Get pitchers with low E.R.As and low HRs. The WHIP can be high, but make sure it is walks and singles not Ball Park Homeruns. Just like AeroDave said.

By the way, I am super stoked about this 1999 season. I sort of missed most of it the first time around(in 1999) and I have never played this season on the CD ROM. Good pitchers are harder to come by than most seasons, and they are more expensive if they are any good. The hitting is off the charts. In part do to juiced bats, balls, and players
