This is only my second team. First team in a hitters park, BOB, not going that great so I figured I would start one in a pitchers park, Metrodome.
Looking for pre-waivers advice on what I could do to solidify my 2nd venture.

As of right now I am going after the following players in waivers

C Varitek
2B Kennedy
RP Embree
SP L. Hernandez
SP Willis

Was thinking of going with a 4 man rotation.

Bad link. Go to League then statistics. Click on your team then copy and paste the URL into this message post.

Without having performed an in depth analysis, my initial thoughts are that you do need to upgrade defense at 2B, you don't want a 3 range there unless his offense will make it worthwhile, and Polanco ain't one of those guys. Also, your catcher is a major injury risk, so you should either replace him or get a better backup. Also, Hernandez is balanced pretty significantly to hit lefties - once waivers have run and the other teams in your division have taken shape, see whether you'll be facing enough lefties to make that a wise decision. You have two undeniable SP studs, but if you want to try to round out a 4*SP rotation, make sure your waiver choices have the sought-after *SPs right at the top, and sign up for more than the two you'd need to complete the rotation or you'll likely get caught up short.

I agree at 2nd thats why I'm tryin for Adam Kennedy (2e14) and not a terrible hitter. I thought I might go with Miles though I have him teamed up with A-rod on my BOB team and am leading in DP. That would also free up some money that could be spent elsewhere. I was also concerned about injuries at catcher so trying to get Varitek, which should be decent. Wanted Kendall at C, but didnt get him. At least I got most of my pitchers and Vlad though.

Where my concern is though is who plays CF. Have Clark and Freel, Clark is a 2 in left so that leaves me with Freel a 3 in Center. A big no-no from what I have seen, but I like his SB potential. Being it might not be easy to score. Lots of pitchers parks in the league.

I have used Aaron Miles at 2B with very good success.

Freel should only play LF, RF or DH. You should decide if you like Klesko or Freel better in LF and trade or cut the other. You do need a 1 or 2 fielder in CF.

I was going to use Klesko at DH, but when I first saw this team I kinda figured I would have to choose between Freel and Klesko. I checked on a couple different links and saw Klesko around 300 BA + 400 OB. What kind of numbers can I really expect out of Freel. I know he's a popular pick in SOM

I was also wondering :?

Freel could make about 30 more runs scored than say Hunter or Jones. Would him being a 3 in Center cost me that many runs with solid pitching over the course of a season.
