So could someone clue me in on what makes up the manager's ratings? I'm sure I could find out under a "help" topic, but curious about your input. It's just a little daunting to be the only zero in a new league (2006 season), but everyone must have started there. Thanks in advance.

Here you go:

[code:1:c6c8bf3358]
A manager's rating in a specific Strat-O-Matic game is computed as follows:

(Wins x (Win Pct. - .400)) + (Reached Playoffs x 10) + (Championships x 20*)

Each of a manager's individual game ratings is multiplied by a "weight" percentage (generally based on how current the game is), and then added together to form his Overall Strat-O-Matic Career Rating.

* - starting with Strat-O-Matic Baseball 2005, Advanced Level league championships are worth 50.[/code:1:c6c8bf3358]

The more experience you have the higher the ratings.

It is all about how much $$ have you spent here at TSN and how many teams you have played. It has no bearing at all on who is better than someone else other than simply whatever experience you may have soaked in while playing those teams.

The "real" rating (IMHO) is the manager's winning percentage, especially for the season he is playing in.

However, I give kudos the TSN for their rating system since it encourages players to play more. And people playing more isn't just good for them; it's good for all of us.
