Anomalies in game results

Almost every season I see an unexplained in game result. Here is my latest:

Miguel Olivo (RH hitter) has an injury at 2-3 vs RH pitchers.

In the same game, Olivo rolled a 2-3 without getting hurt and next time up rolled a 2-3 and got hurt.

Both times against RH pitching and my backup catcher was available to play.

I double checked the pitchers cards, Olivos cards, dice roll results, everything that could have been a factor but the fact remains that in almost every season some kind of weird result happens that has nothing to do with the actual reading on the card.

Anyone else run into this kind of thing?

I believe that you can roll the injury number on the card and roll the 20-sided dice and come up with no injury. It states something like "batter is temporarily injured and remains in the game".

Actually that isnt true for the board game. An injury is an injury with no chance of missing it. However, since no specific rules of the game are available at Strat-O-Matic or TSN, who knows?

I looked at my info on the board game, and I see that rolls of 1 through 4 on the 20-sided dice do not miss any games.

Here's the link

From the Strat Wiki:

http://somonline.bluwiki.com/go/Injuries

Says here on the 20-sided die:

1-2 - player temporarily injured, remains in game

3-4 - injured remainder of the game

etc.

That's interesting as I cant find that injury rule in my board game. I once bought the CDRom game for Football only to find that the rules included were the first generation rules booklet despite the fact that many alterations had been made over the years. No wonder there is so much confusion and misunderstanding when it comes to SOM.
