Trade Offer Salary Calc

Trade Offer Salary Calc

Postby Delbird » Wed Dec 09, 2009 10:47 pm

Has something changed in the trade offer calculation of salary? Usually when I try to set up offers the system comes back and tells me if it is putting me or my counterpart over the salary limit. I was just working on a few ideas and it didn't give me the message - it just asked if I wanted to send the offer (like the salary was fine). I tried an extreme example and it did the same - I either have a bad memory of how this works or maybe something changed.

Here is the info for my team -
Initial Salary Cap: 80,000,000
Cash Available: 114,500

Here is the extreme example - this should put me 8m over so I expected a warning message -
You're offering:
Pierre, Juan ($630,000)

In return for:
Ramirez, Manny ($8,810,000)

Are you sure you want to send this trade offer?

I believe if you choose yes it will tell you that you are over the limit and will give you the amount.

I still say something has changed on this. I think it presented the warning about the salary being a problem after you clicked on 'offer trade', so you immediately knew if the salaries were workable and then you could submit the request, or in most cases back track and try again. I usually let the system calc the salary so I'll know if it is workable. I haven't clicked on the 'are you sure you want to send this trade offer' with my extreme example to see what it does because normally when you get that message, it just sends the request when you say 'ok'. I still think something has changed in the way this works.

I noticed the same thing. The site used to warn you that the $ doesn't work but as of yesterday it didn't warn me anymore. You are NOT crazy. I hope they can fix it.

It used to always tell you if the trade wasn't right because of salaries. This is broken and needs to be fixed.

I think this is fixed now. Just as a reminder, this is a good example of how the best way to bring something to my attention, as always, is by using the Help link in the game... I resolved this as soon as Delbird sent us a message through that channel. Thank you for doing so.
