2009 ended on a high note...make that TWO!

Wed 12/30/09 The hOOters' Hitters utilized 4 Ps to combine on a [b:e070c3d100]PERFECT GAME[/b:e070c3d100] :!:

Starter Mike [b:e070c3d100]Mussina[/b:e070c3d100] tossed 7 inngs of perfect baseball! Moose walked none & struck out 10...while the Hitters commited no errors.

RPs Brad Lidge & Craig Breslow combined for 1 perfect inning, while closer Jonathan Papelbon pitched a prefect 9th to complete the perfecto.

Thurs 12/31/09 a combined [b:e070c3d100]NO Hitter[/b:e070c3d100]! RH Todd [b:e070c3d100]Ritchie[/b:e070c3d100] of the CINergy (Field) SYNergy, like Mussina, went 7 inngs allowing no hits, walking 3, striking out 5. RP Scott Sullivan pitched a perfect 8th & 9th to close out the no hit job.

Incredible performances & they came on consecutive nights on the final 2 days of 2009 :!:

Wow!!! And I got excited once because I had two no-hitters in the same month (different teams)!

Very cool!

As I recall Ritchie carried a No-No late into a game with the Pirates in '99.

Chris Young, 2007, back to back CG perfect game and no-hit

Chris Young, 2007, had back to back complete games, perfect game and no-hitter. I couldn't believe it - I thought it was a strange dream. Loving math and odds, I calculated the odds of that happening for the specific at bats of those games, including X chart effects. I calculated the odds at 55 million to 1.

UNBELIEVABLE.

BTW, the team finished 82-80, squeaked into the playoffs, and lost the finals in 5 games. One of my favourite teams and one of my favourite pitchers. :) Geoff Brookes/Goldeyes/Jets/BlueBombers

I once threw a no-hitter in a Pony League game back in 1979 in Burley, Idaho.

Does that count in these discussions? 8-)
