ok
So I took some time off and now I am back...
Drafted '08 and I have [i:d2489a5d4b]Lilly[/i:d2489a5d4b]...0-2 early on...
BUT, I just picked-up [i:d2489a5d4b]Bedard[/i:d2489a5d4b]...
The question is two-fold...
#1-Are lefty's a bad propsition in General in '08...
#2-Can anyone expound upon Bedard experiences...
Thanks
A loyal Stratastician

Danks is a keeper. He's dominated every league I've seen him used, and I've got him now, 99 games in, he's 13-6 w/ a 3.16 ERA in the Cell. Tied for the league lead in wins, top four SP ERA.

Are lefties a bad proposition in 08? Depends on lots of factors, but on the right team and ballpark the answer is no, not a bad proposition at all.

About 100 games in, Lester is getting hammered, but I'm getting a remarkable season as a spotstarter/reliever by Washburn. Go figure.

Lester should stay away from a HR park as he has several BPHR on his card. In a pitcher's park (where his BPHR are outs) he should be good.

I have had lots of success with lefty pitchers:

Kazmir playing at PNC - fabulous
Maholm at Chase won 21 games for me. But I think Maholm may be better suited to a non-hr park, due to the relatively large amount of die roll chances with Ball park HR readings.
Bedard has been OK - I like his card but performance is OK
Happ and Liriano-very good at Nationals
Downs (RP) - good experiences
Ryan, closer - good experiences

Happ is great at Nationals with really good arms in the outfield (I had Crawford, Hunter and Suzuki). The arms in the outfield help hugely due to the large number of running opportunities on the singles he gives up to right handed batters. A ballpark like Nationals or Fenway is good because the ballpark HRs yielded to lefty hitters are gobbled up by the outfielders on the warning track! /Geoff Brookes :)

See above comments about maybe being better in a park with low homeruns. I think his ERA was as low as it was at Chase was that he allowed few walks, and induced many double plays (as are there on his card). Anyway, he won 21 games, and had a very decent ERA for playing at Chase.

This season is at game 150 as of posting this. Happ and Liriano are doing very well. Team ERA is 6th out of 24.
