Has this ever happened to you?

Ron Darling made 4 errors in a game (actually only about 2/3 of a game,
as he pitched only 6.2 innings!) on 4 separate GBp(X), leading to 7 unearned runs, for my team last night. Darling's 4 errors has got to be some sort of ignominious record. Has anybody ever had a pitcher, or any player for that matter, make 4 or more errors in a game on separate chances while playing his primary position? Eddie Murray and Bucky Dent threw in (pun intended) a couple of more errors to give my team 6 errors in the game. Anybody out there ever have a team make 6 errors in a game? They stunk up the joint last night. I guess it could've been worse. If the Strato gods were going to foist odd events on my team, they could've had those errors be hit & run HRs or could've heaped a few more injuries on the team. Maybe those are awaiting the team down the road. Yikes! Hopefully, the team got it all out of its system in one bad game. Thank goodness it only counts for one loss. - Bernie

That is impressive. Can you post a link to that game? The closest I could find was this game:

7 errors by my team and 2 for the opponents for a total of 9 errors. "Hat Trick" by Tim Lawless. This was, however, a loser's league where we were specifically trying to play Iron Glove men. The 4 boots by Darling is MUCH more impressive since a pitcher(X) is a tougher roll compared to Lawless playing 3rd.

I love how the recap tries to make three errors in an inning sound exciting for the winning team. :)

along with the blown save. It was the 8th inning. What are the odds of that one.

AP, below is the link to the game recap you requested. It doesn't even mention the errors in the narrative.

My team usually isn't so bad and had the best record in the league until injuries began to take a toll. Dent and Burke are backups. The starters are McMillan and Dimaggio, but they were on the DL during the Darling debacle. The link to the team is below:

The team leads the league in errors with 105 in just 117 games. Darling has an astonishing 10 errors in 26 starts over 190 innings. Although the team is barely 2/3 of the way through the season, Eddie Murray, Yogi Berra & Mel Ott have already exceeded the error total on their cards, while George Brett & Willie Stargell are very close to the error totals on their cards. I've never had a team kick the ball around anywhere near as much. I'm not complaining too much though, as the team has led the league in runs, hits, HRs, BA, OBP, SLG and run differential for the entire season, so a few extra fielding miscues just adds to the excitement. I can't curse my poor luck defensively without acknowledging at the same time that my team has been very, very fortunate offensively, and no way would I trade some of the team's offensive success for better D.

So I'm taking the team's defensive misadventures with a grain of salt, but 4 errors in one game seemed noteworthy, just as 4 HRs in a game would be. - Bernie
