Glanville tied to his anvil

With 21 games left in the season Glanville and his anvil have been thrown out at an alarming rate. In 45 steal attempts he has been caught stealing 21 times. That's only a .533 clip. On his card he is 34-2. He is also .042 pts below his BA and .050 pts below his OBP. Home park is Wrigley. Needless to say this guy has been a major underachiver for me. Have you ever had a AA steal rating go this far off the deep end.

Wow, that's some impressively bad luck. I just finished a team with Doug where he finished 25-9 for stealing which is probably much more what others should expect. As for his offense, he played for me at Olympic and finished .293/.342/.400 which I thought was pretty good for the money.

I think it would be VERY hard for the strat engine to duplicate his actual performance that year since it was so strange at 34-2. Certainly his card is sub-optimal for Wrigley with zero BPHRs, but I would have expected numbers at least as good as I got at Olympic. Unfortunately, I think you just had horrible luck!

You helped me build a great team. I was just snake bitten. They went 19-27 in 1 run games. 24 blown saves. I will have 5 players with 30 or more HR's. It just wasn't meant to be I guess. Thank you for all your help Mike

Yes, it looks like that team is just snake bitten. I don't think I've seen worse seasons out of Benson, Lowe, Choinard, or Glanville. And the rest of your lineup pretty much all underperformed as well, just not as bad.

About the only guys who are having good seasons are Carrasco and maybe Hermanson. (You could make an argument for Sele and Glaus too, I guess...) But even guys who are usually money at Wrigley (Manny and Sheffield) didn't really perform up to their cards. You outscored your opponents by a decent margin, but just could never string the wins together. It happens. Your bullpen was certainly strong enough to win it's share of extra innings games and close ones, but it just didn't happen. That's an incredibly unlucky 1-run game record.
