So I finished with an identical record and tied in head to head action with the other team in my division. What was the determining factor to have my opponent move on?

Tiebreakers for a 2-way tie are, in order:
- Head-to-head record
- Run differential
- Coin flip

Tiebreakers for a 3-way tie are, in order:
- Best record vs. teams within division
- Run differential
- Coin flip

I just finished in a league where the wild card ended in a 3 way tie. The tie was broken by the divisional record. Yet again, the WC team is basically a gift for the team that happens to be in the weakest division. I have now seen this several times.

Can someone refute my logic here. I see the 3-way tiebreaker more often then not, being awarded to the team in the weakest division. This means that it is usually NOT the best team of the three. The better team is usually the team in the TOUGHEST division who had to work HARDER to achieve that identical record.

In this league, the team that made the playoffs was 2-7 against one team, and 6-6 against the other that it tied with. I almost think a coin flip would be more fair.
