explain this play?

Two outs, bases loaded, batter singles, no one scores, the guy on first gets out. Someone familiar with the weirder rules, maybe give me a clue?

Thats an easy one. The batters singles just past the 1B who gets a glove on it to slow it down but can't grab it. The runner on 3B trips and falls on his way to the plate. The 2B retrieves the ball behind the 1B and thinks about firing it home after seeing the the runner on 3B has fallen. Just then he glances over and sees the runner that started the play on 1B has over run the 2B bag and he fires it to the SS covering 2B and tags out the runner before the runner who had tripped can get up and cross the plate. Therefore that is a single for the hitter and the 3rd out before the run scores.

Actually I guess it can't be a base hit unless all 4 runners advance one base or else it would be called a force out or fielder's choice so I have no clue.

Easy- he hits it to the 1B who throws it to second (or tags the guy) getting the out before the guy on 3rd scores.

Well, it can't be Detroit's scenario, because that would result in a fielder's choice, not a single, for the batter.

Bomber's would work with a little modification, if you assume the grounder went to a first basemen playing deep off the bag and that batter was beat the fielder to first, let's stick with the runner on 3b falling down, so the runner that was originally on first overran 2b BEFORE the guy from 3b could score. The firstbasemen then tossed it over to the SS to tag him out. So single for the batter in that situation.

That wouldn't be considered a fielder's choice, since the batter beat the fielder to the bag, and the runner was already safe at 2b, but just overran (ie, no force out, and he'd already advanced). It doesn't matter that the guys on second or third had yet to advance, they weren't forced out either.

The man on third forgot how many outs there were and was overtaken by the runner from second or he may have fallen down and was passed by the runner from second. This scenario would result in a base hit but no run scoring.

I think the most likely scenario to cause this outcome in a real game would be that the runner on first is struck by a batted ball before it passes the fielder at 1B. The batter gets credited with a hit, the runner on first is out, and the inning is over as this is the third out. I am not sure if this is the strat version or not, but I think it would explain the boxscore notation of this play.

I don't evaluate the boxes defensively...does it show who got the assist and or putout? Hard to imagine the scenerio in Strat.

In real life all kinds of kooky things can happen...guy on third pulls a hammy and goes down, runner on second gets caught rounding the bag and is tagged before returning to second.

The only scenerio it can be was the batted ball hit a baserunner. The hitter is always given a hit here, but the play results in an out to the runner that was hit w/ the batted ball. Therefore, if they were 2 outs and this makes the 3rd out the inning is over.

My guess is you rolled a rare play on the 1b fielding chart, from the chart:

Easy answer: David Ross hit a screaming line drive that hit a pigeon (who thought first base was a loaf of bread). The ball caromed off the pigeon, now dead - may he rest in peace, stopped, in mid-air, mind you, and disappeared into a space-time portal that was left over from the David Blaine show that was at the stadium the night before. The ball then reemerged from the mouth of the runner on first base, who stood transfixed by the wonder that is nature. The runner on first is out, inning over.
