Relief Pitcher Usage

As a disclaimer, I am a huge Strat-O-Matic fan for the simple fact that is simulates real-life baseball. However, in the online version of Strat-O, there is a huge problem with relief pitcher usage. How on earth are so many relief pitchers "allowed" to pitch over 150, 200, 250 and even 300 innings in relief? That is completely unrealisitic in every facet of the word. In the past two seasons, not one relief pitcher cracked 100 innings!
Something has to be programmed in HAL down the road to minimize relief pitcher usage or Strat-O online will continue to have a black eye.

I agree 100%. To me its a glaring hole. This is my first season online(played 9 games so far) and I see people funneling unrealistic relief innings already. So I found myself playing with my pitcher settings last night to do the same,to stay compettitive. Also you should be able to set single game lineups instead of having to set them for the whole series.

This is an old arguement that crops up every few months...
This is a realistic fantasy game...not a true re-creation of a season...there are plenty examples of a SP throwing twice his innings and hitters batting 3-4-5 times their season totals...how many homers would Albert hit in Coors...you can find out here...how many K's would Hanson have if he pitched an entire season...you can find out here.
you can have those restrictions... if you choose to create a league where all GM's are of a like mind and play by the rules of the league.
In the meantime...enjoy the game...it is afterall...just a game
