What do you guys think? I know it's all new. I have a LH stadium a neutral stadium and a small RH (fenway) in the same division. It's the LH team, with all LH pitching and mostly LH hitting to kill RH pitching that is my real issue.

Missed out on Morales and Holliday, but otherwise got my team, so moved with Pagan (top TB versus RH) and Young backup and Salazar at 1B. Not sure how it will work out, but that's what makes it fun!

Not asking for advice, just sharing!

So what do your first teams look like?

Looks pretty solid geekor - I know you didn't ask for advice, but the one thing you could improve is to try to land a natural HR hitter.

I'll post my Petco team after waivers run on Saturday - similar makeup of my team (I went even leaner on pitching) but I managed to land Morales, who will supply some of the power.

Looks good. Not sure I would want all that money invested in Lilly at Petco. He's the most expensive non* pitcher in the set and you are paying a lot for no ballpark singles which are 1-1 at Petco. He's also got 11 chances of gbA which are a bit of a money waster at a pitcher's park. I might downgrade there and pick up a bat with more natural power as you'll probably need it.

I like Sandoval, and think he'll be a key guy in this set with his ability to play every day and be a decent backup catcher. But that being said, I would expect your backup 3rd baseman to play 30+ games, so I might want a non-4 backup.

Sandoval is way overpriced in this set considering he has only 36 OB reaches vs. RH pitching. At 7.11 million, he is a complete waste.

Since when is OB the only determining factor in a players worth? I'm not leading off with Sandoval.

How many 3B have 35+ OB and 40+ TB on both sides and play 3B.....

8!

Sandoval is #2 in TB versus L (barely beat out D Wright, but still over 65 TB) and is #1 in TB versus RHP (again out of those 8). He's being used to drive in runs and still has 36 OB, which is better than the vast majority of the 3B out there.

Thanks.

I originally have Gavin floyd there, but with the teams in my division being better versus RH pitching, wanted a change. I just don't like the other LH pitchers that are left, otherwise I would drop someone like Lackey for a lesser SP. BTW though Carpenter is the most expensive non * :P

Yea, my backups are set in stone yet, basically some ok fillers to make sure I have $$ for the main people.

And yea I would have like more natural power, like I said I missed out on Holliday and Morales, Both Pujols and Mauer were out in the FA list, but I couldn't clear enough cap space in time to get either of them :(

Im not saying that Sandoval doesn't have his uses. I am arguing that at 7.11 million, he is WAY overpriced.

We'll see about Sandovol. He'll save you about .50-1M for not having to devote a roster spot to a backup catcher. A backup 3rd baseman can be much more versatile than a backup catcher. So, he might end up a great bargain. On base chances for a card like his are only a part of the whole picture.

Pujols would be a great Petco guy. Not only his natural power, but his huge number of gbAs won't kill you as much.

Oh, and I must have meant the most expensive non* LEFTY. ;)

Alright, as I promised Geekor, here's my own Petco team. Flame/praise away: http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/stratomatic/team/team_other.html?user_id=261429

I'll be platooning McCann and Miller at C, and Borbon and Evans at DH.
