I was going through some old leagues that I participated in (2003) and ran across one of the several where "Nicole :-)" participated. Was the "Nicole Mystery" ever solved once and for all?

Having had "her" in disappear in one league, I don't ever recall that anyone ever proved anything, i.e., Nicole real or not real.

Of course, the TSN SoM community tossed [b:0b76efd168]Bickel Bomber[/b:0b76efd168] under the bus over the Nicole issue / debacle. :shock:

Thing is, there were a few people that were trading private messages over the whole affair, so I suspect that a select group knows something that they never made public.

Nicole is allegedly a young female (12???) who - with her grandfather's financial support and assistance - played TSN SoM. I recall her having an illness - not sure which one but played to her charm.

Very, very active on the Forums and joined quite a few leagues. Always took a "child like" approach to any subject and seemed to know more about baseball than the average teenage male.

The TSN SoM community adopted her and embraced her as a competitor.

If I recall, she suddenly took ill and passed away. Of course, she left the boards but someone still managed her teams - [b:1a9799c3ed]here comes the problem[/b:1a9799c3ed]

Because of some posting near or after her alleged passing, the TSN SoM community started to back track on her writings, some felt duped, others felt vindicated but the general community began to doubt that "Nicole" even existed.

Well ... you can figure out the rest.

It consumed a few owners along the way. :shock:
