2009 card set...I have Mauer and Pujols batting 3rd and 4th.

Mauer is batting .231 after 18 games and is batting 40 points HIGHER than Pujols...in BUSCH no less....

Patience is a virtue...patience is a virtue....

i was going to ask after how many games but it shouldn't matter. it's obvious they will both hit well above 400 the rest of the way to get back to norm.

21 games. Mauer just went 5-13 last night, Pujols is still batting .189 (with 4 errors).

PATIENCE...PATIENCE....PATIENCE.....

If I go under .500 I might get itchy I'm afraid.

I would bat Pujols 3rd and Mauer 4th. Pujols has 7 more gbA points against RHP, is a better base runner, can steal a bit, and has more natural doubles. Mauer has more HR chances that way anyhow. You might be able cut down about 20+ double plays per year just by mixing up your order.

Don't worry too much, however. They _will_ eventually hit.

Amazing what a bad start will make you do, huh?

Even though we basically know the statistical range they're expected to produce, it's still tempting to think "well, I could dump this guy's salary, platoon here and here, maybe sacrifice some defense over here..."

I've almost panicked after one of my 09 Teams first week of play - they were producing at about a .600 OPS and I thought "oh no, I'm doomed!" Thankfully I didn't overreact, had some patience, and my ship righted itself into first place!
