I think that you will be hard pressed to find people to join this league in its current format.

The two suggestions I would make are:

Have a sign-up sheet and then use state lottery numbers to determine draft order.

Especially with the 2009 "unleashed" set, it should be $100M. $80M is too restrictive.

Just my 2 cents.

Well are you in or are you out? Sounds like out and uninterested, so therefore I find your post unnecessary. If I don't like a suggested league format I just move on instead of attempting to dissuade others.

If the league doesn't fill I will sleep tonight. There is always the regular and sometimes banal leagues with the usual strategies. I am trying to create something slightly different and possibly a challenge to some. The early teams that select will have to wait a long time to pick that second team so their strategy might change as the selection process goes on.

If the majority of entrants suggest a higher payroll we can select as a group of players who did indeed join the league and thus have standing.

If it is above or below your Strat-acumen I cannot say, although I viewed your impressive trophy case. It is appears as though you don't believe that you could win in this league. What do they say about sportswriter and broadcasters "Those who can't write about it!!"

Good luck in your Strat-endeavours. You gotta join now AERODAVE and crush me!!

Toronto,

I'm not trying to dissuade you or anyone else at all. I'm just being realistic based on my experiences here over the last few years. I completely understand the challenge of such a concept of a theme at 80M, but as a veteran of two ATG franchise leagues, one a 16-season commitment, and the other one 12-season affair, I know people like playing with the big name favorites (e.g. Joe Mauer and Joe Nathan) over the mediocre (Delmon Young and Jon Rauch). That's a lot harder to do at 80M, as opposed to 100M.

I'm out for now, but nonetheless interested, as I prefer theme leagues over standard ones. I'm waiting for these ATG commitments to wrap up, and then I'll jump in a few more 2009 games.
