Trade Opinions

First of all, here is my team:

Second: I've been mulling a trade offer to bolster my bullpen and in essence change the makeup of my staff. Currently, Johnson and Santana are my front line, and Weaver/Lidle (spotted by Bonderman) are my back half with Rivera as the closer and Osuna as the other relief help.

Osuna started well, but has been throwing poorly, and his position is important because if I had a stud setup guy to help out Weaver/Lidle and bridge the gap to Rivera, maybe I'd win a few more. So here is what I am considering.

Giving up:
Santana
Osuna
Nady

Gaining:
Radke
Gagne
Segui
Podsednik (for financial considerations)

Osuna was a cheap fix because originally I had Zambrano too, but I traded him for Abreu to help out the offense, which I have since further improved. Do you guys think it is a poor choice to offer up Santana? I still have RJ, but with Gagne as a setup and Rivera as closer, they will eat a ton of innings from my poorer starters, and Radke will still be good (hopefully). I could ask for Garcia too, but he is having a good season and I doubt the owner will give him up.

The owner (my real-life uncle) is looking for a blockbuster deal, so I think he is willing, but his pseudo-deadline is Sunday, so I need second opinions quickly! Would you make this deal if you were me? Would you make this deal if you were him? Here is his team:

Thanks for your help guys.

In my opinion (as I've never been lucky enough to have him), [b:10a5a43150]never, never, never[/b:10a5a43150] trade Santana away. Someone else could help you on here better than I can. I'd probably stick with what you got. Never trade Santana.

Yea, thanks. I was not truly intending to, but if there was overwhelming support I would have. The problem was that Rivera was not getting innings (did not pitch for 8 straight games) after I adjusted bullpen settings that were supposed to get him more innings (yea, right, didn't work obviously). Since I have reverted to other settings and he is getting the ball. I'm just waiting for Santana to get the run support my other guys do. Thanks for opinions.

Don't do it. You have an excellent foundation there. If anything, I would simply dump Bonderman for a better arm in the pen, maybe a LH for some balance & so you don't have to depend on Osuna/Yan to get out lefties. Bonderman is really not adding much value there when you have Lidle pitching in the 4th spot of a 4-man rotation Unless 2 or more of your division rivals are heavy RH-hitting teams, no reason to have an extra righty that slanted.

Other than that one area, your lineup looks very very efficient to me, and I think a major trade would only hurt things.
