Looks to me like it was really pitching that made this team a loser. All the starters except Hernandez were under 4M, and it's hard to win in a 140 million dollar league with such weak pitching. The lack of a strong closer was probably another factor. In a very aggressive stealing team, a .700 success ratio is actually pretty good.
The 100 base stealers is sensational, and incredibly lucky. Notice how each of them hit exactly 100 steals, and all on the next to last game.
