Has Interest in the TSN Live Drafts Greatly Diminished?

Or even shrunk to non-existant?
It seems like last year a live draft would fill once every 2 weeks. This year, since the first month kickoff of the 2009 set or so, live drafts are never filling.
I put a live draft out on the league list for HR Derby night over a week ahead of draft time and no one at all jumped into the league. I'm trying again for tonight, which seems with no baseball like a perfect night for a live draft but still no takers.
I'd be interested to know the reasons why some of you who have played live drafts in the past aren't interested or why others may not be filling live drafts.
I know the ecomony still sucks and its summer, but this was the case last year too and the live drafts still seemed to fill pretty quick.
Any thoughts, gang?

I think a lot of people, myself included, don't want to waste $25 on a league that has a good chance of getting screwed up by bad trades, team dumping, etc. Not a knock against any new guys, but the live draft is the most appealing format to guys who have not played before, so they may be just playing one time and not really give a flying **** about it. Three of the last four I tried had some type of controversy or bad trading/team dumping, which rarely happens in any other format. They are fun to do, but not worth the trouble. I would only play in a private league.

I think one of the factors may be because there's no salary cap capabilities in a live draft.

I completely agree with durantjerry. I have participated in numerous live drafts, though I have not personally seen any serious controversies, there does seem to be a different attitude amongst the managers of live draft leagues. Besides bad trades and such, I notice that there are always at least one or two managers that never respond to any e-mails, making trading impossible.
While I haven't stopped doing live drafts altogether, I think I would prefer private live draft leagues over "the public option". ;)

For me it's the lack of salary cap options. Just building the most expensive team possible really sucks.

Thanks for all your thoughts guys. I was afraid that the thread from a few months ago when there was blantant collusion may have soured alot of players from the live drafts.
I guess it would be more difficult to collude in a salary cap league.
Its too bad, I really enjoyed that format as a change from the auto leagues and even the theme leagues that get started.

Add salary caps and it would be a lot more popular for sure. Now we go to SOM Draft for salary cap live drafts, which is still OK, but it would be nice to have it here.

We have been doing live drafts for years. The TSN applet is very new. In the early days, we drafted right here on the forums. Then came penngray's app (later taken on by Major Deegan), followed by Adrian's great Diamond Dope app. No need for the TSN version at all really.
By the way, we are looking for 5 more to fill a Diamond Dope draft. Check it out!

I have never, and will never, do a live draft on the site. Same reasons as stated above - I want a salary cap, private league, with known owners.

I do really like the format, as I often play Live in ATGV, where the best players along with some new blood(league are usually open) regularly have one at least once a week and there has never been a problem. With me its strictly not worth taking the chance it will go bad when I have had it happen way more than it should Live in 200X.
