Manager ratings or SN ad

Why is it that more than half the time when I click on a manager's name I get a Sporting News ad instead of the manager's rating? I can't figure out any rhyme or reason to when each occurs. Sometimes it works on the second manager after not working on the first one. Generally it seems pretty random, except when it starts working it seems to stay on for that session.

I have found if I have am signed in on the message board then I can check the manager ratings every time...

You have to be signed in. Either via the message boards, or when it gets to that ad sign-in in the top right, hit enter, and close. When you reopen it will go to the ratings.
