Very little can diminish my enjoyment of Strat here on SN, and one that can is those annoying and totally irrelavant drive by ads wanting my opinion of some stupid surveys.
If we have to put up with this nonsense I think it only fair they drop the price, maybe $25 without ads, $22.50 with ads.

I just can't believe that at this price, Strat is not making a hefty profit on running these games, and I don't think we should be assaulted with ads when most of us are probably playing Strat to get away from being bombarded with Madison Ave. vomit.

Satelitte radio you have to pay a premium for no ads. How about $25 with ads and $30 with no ads? :P

Interesting. I've always worried TSN might not be making enough money to be worth their time to continue running our games. So, most of their ads don't bother me. And if they [i:d4f967d214]are[/i:d4f967d214] making a heatlhy profit...good! That means SOM will still be here next year and the year after.

On the other hand...

Ha! I guess I got what I deserved. I got home from work and wanted to check the message boards. It took a full minute to load because the ad server was lagging.

I've changed my mind--down with ads!

I have no problems with ads as long as they are on the side or bottom of the page. I do not want them at the top of my page so I have to scroll down to see what I am there to see. I do not want them covering the content I want to see.

I have this complaint on a growing number of sites. Perhaps it is time for us to start googling and find contact for the CEOs of all these companies and start sending emails and snail mail or whatever possible and complaining. This kind of crap policy comes down from the top in marching orders and strategy. The people who run this site are only doing as ordered. If change is to come it must come as a directive from the top and that is what should be targeted.

Find the email address of the highest person you can for any given site. Then with each obnoxious ad send that person an email with a screenshot and politely tell them you don't like it. Find the email address of the highest person you can for the product being advertised and do the same letting them know this is more likely to drive the sales of their competition than their sales.
