"Qualifying" on the Stat Board

On the Hitter and Pitcher individual stats, I assume there is some formula for which players "qualify" and which don't.

Is it based on X amount of ABs per game played? X amount of IP per game played?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can unriddle this for me.

I've always thought it was what MLB uses for batting and ERA champions but I may be wrong:

* Average of 3.1 plate appearances.
* Number of innings should equal the games played by the team.

I'm pretty sure wavy's right...don't know why SOM would use different qualifications from MLB
