Slow rollout of DH backups

Now that I've made sure the new Best-of-7 Semi-Finals format for ATG 6 is running smoothly, I'm tying up some loose ends that I've left dangling. At this time I'd like to roll out the patch that gets the backups for the DH working in the Lineup Depth Chart. Otherwise known as Nothing is Easy.

You may recall I tried deploying this back in September with disastrous results - for the first time ever, I was forced to re-play a lot of games that had already been posted.

I've had a fix put into my developmental code for a while, but I haven't had the chance to test it until now. My internal tests look fine, and normally that means it's ready to be deployed officially, but given what happened last time, I'm going to take it slow this time.

At this time I'm selecting just a handful of DH leagues to which to deploy the functionality starting with tonight's games (Fri. night, 1/14). They are listed below. If your league is on this list, you'll also see a notice on your Front Office. Ignore that yellow message on the Lineup Depth Chart that says DH backups don't work :) and prepare your backup(s) if you want.

I don't expect any issues, and I also don't expect anyone to [i:a907a46370]really[/i:a907a46370] care, but I anticipate rolling this out to all leagues officially next week.

Leagues whose DH backups will start working Fri. night, 1/14:
1. New Year-New League (2009)
2. PAYJETERNOW (2009)
3. Early Friday Live (ATG 6)
4. Iron Gloves VI (ATG 6)
5. Throwback (90s)
6. X~MAS is coming II (90s)

"I've made sure the new Best-of-7 Semi-Finals format for ATG 6 is running" -- Bernie

Does anyone know if this applies to ATG6 leagues that are currently in mid-season?

yes, I have already seen a 7-game semi in an ATG6 league.

The Best-of-7 Semi-Finals format is effective for all [i:c1b9517184]new player sets[/i:c1b9517184], starting with ATG 6. So:

All ATG 6 leagues from the beginning, and going forward, have had and will have Best-of-7 Semi-Finals.

All 2010 season leagues (to debut in early March) will also have the Best-of-7.

All other sets that existed at the time of ATG 6's debut will remain Best-of-5.

Wasn't the 90's game new since the release of 2010? They are still at best of 5 for the playoffs.

The "Back to the '90s" game came out [u:6891ff8422]before[/u:6891ff8422] ATG VI, so it doesn't get the 7 game semifinals. It's only for ATG VI and games that debuted after ATG VI.

Actually what am I talking about.

With the way I overhauled and redesigned the whole playoff scheduler, it in fact wouldn't be that hard to make the Best-of-7 effective for new leagues in older sets too. It's not trivial, but it's possible. I'll revisit this hopefully before long.
