Problem Bernie - may be related to DH back-ups

Postby Jeepdriver » Thu Jan 27, 2011 10:06 am

In the following game Youkilis my regular 3B had been injured in the game before. Instead of putting Wright at 3B HAL put Cora there even though Wright is listed as my B/U and Cora isn't even 3B eligible. I had no other injuries and Wright (the normal DH) is definitely listed as the 3B back-up.

If Bernie's new implementation was working correctly Wright should have been the 3B and my back-up DH (Byrd) should have been put in at DH.

Hey Jeep,

This is an inherent limitation of the Lineup Depth Chart. It's just not very good at going past one "level" of a shift, i.e. the fact that Youk's backup (Wright)'s backup (Byrd) was also in the starting lineup causes the computer manager to just give up at that point. Yes, it should know to pull Wright out of DH and stick him at 3b, but it doesn't. In my announcement about the DH backups, I gave a heads up about this:
