[quote:dd808e711b="melgibsonfan"]What would your 1-10 be of rookies this year?
Obviously
1. Heyward
2/3 Strasburgh/Stanton
4-10
Santana
Alvarez
Chapman
Helleckson
Castro
Jennings
Brown[/quote:dd808e711b]
Not enough information...
Are you asking in the real world or Strat, if it's Start, what's my park, who else is on the team, can't make these decsions ina vaccuum.
If it's real world, I'd likely go Santana first, catchers that hit that well are a rare breed.

Strasburgh would not even be on my radar. Tommy John surgery works but this guy will need 3 to 5 years to be top 5. I couldn't wait that long. He won't pitch this year and he was handle with care last year and look what happened to him.

poor list...or poorly worded question..
half of these guys are not rookies!
if you are asking who is the best of the young players...then
Heyward...he has proved himself already
Niners says a good hitting C..not a bad choice in RL but in Strat servicable C's are easy to find
I dont like going after(early at least) young arms like Strasburg or Chapman due to burn out factor

1. Stanton/Heyward-It's a wash. Stanton will have a LOT more power than Heyward, Heyward will have the higher average. Heyward's history of injuries (however small) would lead me to opt for Stanton.
2. Castro-Should dominate the SS position for years to come. Don't let this year's D rating fool you. The guy's an acrobat out there.
As for the rest, I have similar feelings. Catchers are a dime a dozen in any current year and can easily be gotten in most leagues on a year to year basis (see Ross, Castro etc in 2010). As for pitching, it's too fluid on a year to year basis (see Lincecum, Grienke, etc in 2010). If a hitter has a "bad year" in most cases he's still servicable, if a pitcher has a bad year, forget it, he's useless.
