It's early but.....

It sure is fun watching the "greatest Sox team ever assembled" implode early in the season, and listening to their fans calling the local radio talk shows from their cell phones as they stand on the edge of the bridge, contemplating jumping off soon after hanging up. As a Yankee fan in Red Sox territory, this winter was particulary painful listening to how this team was just going to run over everyone, winning 100 plus games just by showing up to the park.

Oh sure, it still might happen, the team is strong, at least on paper. But for now, I'm surely enjoying this. The only downside is none of them have shown their face at my card store since the season began, at least not the days I've worked. Typical.

As an Angels fan who hates the Red Sox, even with us losing 3 games in them last AB to the Royals... it's still fun to watch!!

Boston is 4½ games out of first with 156 to play. I think its a little early to write them off just yet. They haven't even played one game in Fenway.

On a different note....I think it is exciting to see perennial doormats such as Baltimore and Pittsburgh have success in the early going. Hopefully they can keep it going.

Would that put Boston 120 games back at the end of the season?

I follow Pittsburgh for about 3 weeks at the start of every season (my parents are from Erie). They almost always do well for about 20 games and then go 20 games down before the all star break. Hey it is fun while it lasts.

No. If your assumption puts Boston at 0-162 at the end of the season that would mean some other AL East team would have to win 120 games this year for the Red Sox to be 120 games behind at the end of the season. This is not possible.

As an Indians fan.....WOO HOO  :D

Maybe we can not only avoid 100 losses this year, but maybe we can aviod 90 losses too.
