Well, his winning streak is now over, so I can talk about it... :)

Here was R.A. Dickey's performance in game 34:

R.Dickey LOSS(1-5) 5 2/3 9 8 8 4 2 2 120 6.29

And here he was on game 92:

R.Dickey WIN(10-5) 9 4 0 0 2 2 0 122 3.16

He reeled in 9 consecutive wins (along with a couple of no decisions) and dropped his ERA nearly in half. He lost his next start after this, but is now 11-6. Moral of the story: don't give up too quick on a good pitcher who's getting killed early.

How does staying with a good pitcher that is doing poorly relate to R. A. Dickey? His first six decisions look a lot like what you would expect from a guy who couldn't even make it in the Rangers bullpen. He had one of the batboys bring the gas can with him when he came in to pitch.

Very well done sticking with your man. I see way too many unsuccessful GMs drop players only to pick up players with worse cards. You did the right thing, and it payed off.
