How can a pitcher throw 150 pitches and not be tired?
Also, how is the pitch count determined?

I had Tejeda throw 192 pitches in one game in '09. If you set the pitcher correctly he will not come out for a very long time. This is not set up like real Baseball and you don't go up against poor pitching like real Baseball. Remember that there are only 12 teams in your league and only the best are picked so that will change the "realism" of the game.
You can set a pitcher for slow hook and don't relieve before F0 and he will pitch with a rubber arm. The term Super Reliever is a very good tool in this game and any good R2 can pitch as many or more innings as any starter on your team. As can a Starter pitch well into extra innings if you set for less relief pitching and less Closer.
I see that you are a rookie but don't know if you have played much. Ask any questions that you want and the Vets will answer them. Be prepared for direct answer and you will be told if your team stinks and where. Everyone here is very helpful and will help you out with your team. This is a great game but don't mistake it with real baseball as it is a game set up for you to maximze your stratergy and manipulate the players how you want them to play.
This is a great game but we don't have 6 or 7 Starting pitchers and the 24 man roster needs to play way more than in real Baseball. Pitchers don't get tired and need extra days off and your catcher can catch all the time. As long as the guy can play he feels no need for a day off to recoup and if we played triple headers your catcher could catch all 3 games that day.

Your pitcher can get fatiged and that will show on his card as @out turns into a single. There is no pitch count for your pitcher. You can set him to come out by setting the relieve before F8 to 0. F8 will take him out quick and F0 will keep him in well after being tired.
