30/30 a big deal in Strat?

I'm sure it happens quite a bit, especially in previous years, but was just wondering how often. Cargo just did it for me with a week left in the season and I only have 3 seasons completed this year and Hanram was the only one that's done it for a team in the league I was in.

David Wright has 29 HRs and 23 SB in my league, with 36 games still to play.
I think you are correct in that it is rarer than in years past.

I just looked through my old teams as I am pretty sure I had A Soriano go 50/50 one season. I did not see as many 30/30 guys as I thought. I tend to steal in pitching parks so 30 HR's usually does not go hand in hand with the 30 steal's. Guys I did notice with 30/30 were Abreu, Vlad G and HanRam, all of whom were pretty close to 40/40 a time or two, so they must have accomplished the 40/40 for someone.

Wow...50/50 is really nice! I had Soriano in Great American for '06 season(7s-13hr) and he hit 71 with 38 steals.

I found Soriano's 50/50. Sizemore also went 30/30 on this $200 team:

Here is a surprising Reyes 30/30:

Beltran also looks like he was a guy that had more than a few 30/30's over the years.

In the 90's game, Bonds looks like he could put up a 60/60 or more if you caught one of his great power/OBP years(there are two or three), as he is a 19-15 hold guy. Might be my next project.

I think you see fewer 30/30 in strat than in real life.
Guys take a 30/30 player and stick him in HR happy park. Then they do not want him running because he is probably surrounded by a bunch of other HR hitters. So he is marked do not steal or the team settings are marked conservative so attempts are just not there. Guys picking a player for his speed probably surround him with smallballers and pick an appropriate park which has side effect of limiting his HRs.
The above is not always the case or 30/30 might not be seen at all. But is the case often enough to cause a reduction in such seasons.

That makes sense Valen...I know I have done that exactly for both situations.

I've had some great base-stealing teams in the retro keeper league. For example, we set the league record with 381 SB in 2001.
Bobby Abreu was the star in the HR/SB combo area, with a stunning 34/77.
