I have had the damnedest time keeping my players healthy. It seems that for some reason, this set of players just go down to injury more.

I did a quick look at both the 2009 and 2010 set.

Make of that what you will, BUT, here is the kicker (and if someone wants to check my numbers, I may be wrong, but I don't think so):

If these numbers are even NEAR right . . . My assumption isn't wrong.

Thoughts? Further analysis from those far better than me with numbers?

Thats one of the first things that I remember noticing about the set when it came out. The amount of high injury players and the salaries that some of them have as well.

I dont know if its just me, but, I would NEVER use guys like Pedroia, Youk, Cruz, or maybe Morneau (unless I can get a decent backup for cheap). It's really not even close to being worth it in an $80 mill league.

The number of players subject to more frequent injuries is substantially greater with this set. But, to me, what seems different from previous sets is that the salary or price of these players that are subject to frequent injuries seems to a lot higher in comparison to earlier cards sets. It seems that in previous sets you could get a "bargain" by picking up a player that may perform at a high level but ran the risk of being frequently injured. This set doesn't seem to give as much of a discount on a player's salary as a compensation for taking on the potential (likely)risk of losing a starter. The bottom line is that although some of these cards look like they could inflict some serious offensive damage, the price is simply way too high to bear the risk, especially in an $80 million league.

I think in the past years people were taking a chance on high injury players because they didn't cost you as much. Strat must have seen that and now if you want that killer card even though it has a high injury rate you are going to pay for it.
In posts that I have read guys have listed how many AB they have gotten out of players with high injury rolls. Many have had players bat 400 to 500 times. If you can get lucky and get that out of a really great card that is too much of a bargin IMHO. I for one am glad that the price of these cards have gone up.

Looks like avoiding injuries was
actually somewhat an indicator of success in this
league as three of the four playoff teams were at
the top of this list. However, I made the playoffs with
the Idiots who had 56 injuries!

Check out the single player leaders. WAY higher
than normal too:

Nelson Cruz 6 injuries 63 games
Dejesus David 12 injuries 58 games
Izturis Macier 13 injuries 53 games
Sweeney Ryan 11 injuries 48 games
Veritek Jason 10 injuries 42 games
Youkilis Kevin 10 injuries 38 games

Poor Nelson Cruz average 10.3 games out per injury!

yes ...for in season current injuries

this is the first time I have seen a season recap off all injuries

Im not much of a computer person so I'm not into the tricks...I'm sure I sometimes get the short end of the stick as a result.
