[b:7b62813ca3]The Strat-O-Matic Game Replay[/b:7b62813ca3][/size:7b62813ca3]

[i:7b62813ca3]This feature is available for all player sets under the central SOM Online site only - 2007-2010, ATG IV-VI, 1986, 1999, Back to the '90s.[/i:7b62813ca3]

Now, you can watch last night's games - or any past game ever!* - unfold play by play, or inning by inning, or at whatever pace you wish, with the new [b:7b62813ca3]Strat-O-Matic Game Replay![/b:7b62813ca3]

Just click on the binoculars icon ([img:7b62813ca3]http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/images/stratomatic/game_replay/binoculars.gif[/img:7b62813ca3]) next to any past game to start the show. The playback will begin automatically after the page finishes loading.

[b:7b62813ca3]NEW! As of 8/18/11:[/b:7b62813ca3][/color:7b62813ca3]
Obviously, this new feature is at its most compelling if you don't already know the outcome of the game before you start watching it. Thus, you have the option to [b:7b62813ca3]hide your scores/results from your Front Office and Your Teams pages[/b:7b62813ca3] each day, to give you the chance to watch your Game Replays in full suspense. You can activate or de-activate this option individually for each of your teams at any time, and you can even apply your preference to all your active teams as a shortcut.

The link to change your preference can always be found under [b:7b62813ca3]Your Account -> Hide/Show Scores preferences[/b:7b62813ca3]. You'll also find a link that reads "Change your Hide/Show Scores pref." on your Front Office.

Hope you like this oft-requested feature, and I'll have some more news and updates on what else is going at SOM Online headquarters soon.

Enjoy!

[i:7b62813ca3]* - I just noticed this currently doesn't work for games played before June 26, 2009, which is when Bullpen v2 launched and the Pitch Count Fatigue ("F9") started being included on play-by-plays. I'll fix that.[/i:7b62813ca3]

[i:7b62813ca3]Original section before Hide/Show Scores preference became available:
In addition to being able to pause/resume the play-by-play, you can speed up or slow down the speed to your liking at any time, step through the game an inning by inning, and even seek to any inning you want just by clicking on it!

Obviously, this new feature is at its most compelling if you don't already know the outcome of the game, and for the time being, it'll be hard for you to click on the icon to start the Game Replay for a game without noticing who won it. I'm keeping it like this for now because Game Replay is currently in [b:7b62813ca3]beta[/b:7b62813ca3], which means it hasn't been rigorously tested yet and is unlikely to be free of bugs. I don't want you to settle in to watch a game only to have it go haywire on you. You can read more about how the Game Replay works and some notes about its beta state in the description on the bottom half of the page when you fire it up.

I fully intend to implement - soon - the option to hide your team's record and results from the Your Teams and Front Office page until you've had the opportunity to watch (or pass on) your Game Replays, AND I'll make it on a per-team basis so you can pick which of your teams you want keeping you in suspense. But for now, I wanted you to try it out first on a more casual basis.[/i:7b62813ca3][/color:7b62813ca3]

Great job, Bernie. The hide results option will be a nice finishing touch.

Strat has just hit the Strat-o-phere. That is it for me, you had me at hello Bernie. Dump the wife and kick out the kids I am moving in! I cook and clean and even do windows. Send me your address and I will be there in 2 days. I need to tell the hot wife and kid that I am moving out and packing my bags. . That will be good for a 5 pack and you Bernie put a 6 pack in the fridge.
With all my love, Mike

love this Bernie, especially when it is fully implemented to the point of not seeing who won first. :D

Sorry, but not impressed. Seems quite primitive, kind of reminds me of the strat techno equivalent of the early Atari pong game, circa 1978. Now if it had play-by-play sound and animation, then we'd have something to talk about.

Actually pong was a lot more fun. This new feature "at it's most compelling" is right up there with watching paint dry on my list of ways to not spend my time.

Trajectory adds drama

If you can add a simple trajectory animation for each result, that would be incredible! Especially for the #homers, it would be terrific.
