Why is Keppinger out?

Trever Miller (L) enters the game in the top of the 9th, and faces Jeff Keppinger (R), pinch hitting for A.J. Pierzynski (L). The dice roll is 2-5. Why doesn't Keppinger double to center instead of grounding out to third? Scratching my head, here. Thanks for any help.

*** TOP OF INNING 9 ***
SUBSTITUTE P - Trever Miller (role: LH Specialist)
SUBSTITUTE LF- Melky Cabrera
SUBSTITUTE PH- Jeff Keppinger

Late in the game, some doubles are modified to outs because of the corner infielders "guarding the lines." It apparently doesn't matter which OF the double is hit towards.

Wow. Thanks rburgh. That would explain it, but it would be nice if they activated this feature only on doubles to LF or RF. I was robbed.
